Lofoten is widely known for its rich fish deposits, and with an experienced crew aboard the boat, there is a great chance that you’ll make a catch. The Tide takes you to fishing grounds in the surrounding area where you can experience Lofoten fishing up close. On the fishing trips, you can often catch cod, coalfish, haddock and mackerel. Herring, redfish, catfish, monkfish and flounder are also common fish species. If we're lucky, we might get a halibut on the hook.
We fillet our catch and take it back to the kitchen at the Havet Restaurant & Bar, where we are served the freshly cooked fish.
During the trip, you can also enjoy a view of the Lofoten archipelago and watch the birdlife, while you breathe in the fresh sea air. The fishing often attracts curious sea eagles, common eiders and cormorants. Sometimes during our trip we can also see seals, porpoises, basking sharks and whales.
